Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy wins Canadian Game of the Year award

Eidos Montreal's Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy took up the top prize at the Canadian Game Awards on Friday night.  It won the coveted Game of the Year award, as well as other accolades, for reflecting the best of what Canada has to offer.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy earned Best Narrative and the somewhat redundant Best Console Game, in addition to the Game of the Year award.

The acclaim is well-deserved, as critics, including us, complimented the game earlier in 2021 for its excellent script and likeable characters. FIFA 2022, Far Cry 6, Echo Generation, and Boyfriend Dungeon were among the nominees for the award.

The Canadian Game Awards are an annual event that highlights the “world's third-largest developer of video games,” according to the organisation.

“This award event highlights Canada's global leadership in interactive entertainment,” the Canadian Game Awards website notes.
